MOSIS Accounts for Academic Institutions

MOSIS offers three types of accounts for accredited academic institutions. If you're not sure which account is right for you, please review the Comparision of Academic Accounts chart.
COMMERCIAL
This is a standard account, tailored to the special needs of academic institutions. In this section you'll find instructions and links to set up an account, and request and renew access to vendor documents. For projects that do not meet criteria for free fabrication under the MOSIS Educational Program (MEP) MOSIS lowers fabrication cost to universities by offering a smaller minimum size (IBM 8RF-DM, IBM 8HP, TSMC 40 nm TinyChip, TSMC 65 nm TinyChip, and TSMC 90 nm TinyChip).
MOSIS Educational Program (MEP) Instructional Account
Free fabrication in supported technologies of projects designed by students in classroom settings of accredited institutions. In this section you'll find instructions and links to set up an account, request and renew access to vendor documents, and how to request an allocation of space for the upcoming academic year.
MOSIS Educational Program (MEP) Research Account
Only unfunded and in supported technologies work can be fabricated under the MEP RESEARCH program. Such designs may be for research projects, thesis work, or individually directed study. Work under MEP Research accounts result in a journal article, paper, or thesis; may be ongoing beyond the end of a single semester, and is usually supervised or directed research without the controls of a specific curriculum.
The MEP Research program is funded entirely by MOSIS from revenue generated from our commercial customers. To keep this program operational, MOSIS has implement a number of restrictions. MOSIS will pay for the fabrication of designs that have no source of funding, limited to one project per university per academic year. In this section you'll find instructions and links to set up an account, request and renew access to vendor documents, and how to submit a proposal for free fabrication of an annual project.
