IBM Taxi Runs
MOSIS offers "taxi runs" for IBM processes. Taxi runs provide the
scheduling convenience of an on-demand dedicated run, but at reduced
cost - and are limited to prototype use only.
Taxi runs are private MPW runs. Designs approved for fabrication on
taxi runs may not pass the more stringent design checks required for
IBM production runs. Please see
"Checking and
Error Disposition Strategy for IBM Designs."
Also, the IBM
6HP/6DM (0.25 micron SiGe),
5DM (0.5 micron SiGe),
5PA (0.5 micron SiGe),
7SF (0.18 micron CMOS),
7HP (0.18 micron CMOS), and
6RF (0.25 micron CMOS)
processes are available through MOSIS only as taxi runs -- no MPWs.
Taxi runs can also be ordered for any of the other
IBM processes.
